Advanced Technology for Improved Care
At CHRISTUS Children’s, your child will have access to the latest technology for advanced care. Our state-of-the-art equipment and expertly trained therapists work together to help your child reach their full potential.
Bioness Integrated Therapy System (BITS): A touch-screen therapy device used to improve hand-eye coordination, reaction time, depth perception, and peripheral vision
Armeo®Power: an advanced arm and hand rehabilitation device.
RT300: Neurological rehabilitation equipment with functional electrical stimulation for repetitive cycling
RT600 Standing Elliptical Cycle: Enables stepping movements in a controlled environment
VitalStim Therapy: Administers small electrical pulses that stimulate the muscles used for swallowing
Partial Body Weight Support System: Assists patients in walking with a more natural gait, while moving faster and for longer durations
Sensory Gym: Fun, engaging equipment to support motor skill development, movement coordination, and muscle strength through play.
Respiratory Support
Children who are reliant on a ventilator, BiPAP, or CPAP machine as part of their therapeutic treatment can benefit from inpatient therapy. Children with tracheostomy tubes, including those on respiratory support can be treated in our program. Typically, patients will transition to this program from an intensive care unit at CHRISTUS Children’s or another hospital as they recover from an illness or injury that has affected their breathing.
In some instances, a comprehensive therapy program following intensive care can enable a child to go home sooner and, in some cases, reduce or eliminate reliance on respiratory support.
Does your Child Qualify for Inpatient Rehabilitation at CHRISTUS Children's?
