CARING FOR KIDS

When her cousin asked her to lower the ramp on her family’s trailer, Sophia “Pia” Simon didn’t expect it to slip and cut the side of her face. She was taken to CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Outpatient Center Mid County, where the emergency team treated her large cut. “The nurses and doctors were very nice to me,” Pia recalls. The whole experience was scary, but Pia says the kind and caring team at CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Outpatient Center Mid County made her feel better, inside and out.

Jameson Laird is a rambunctious 5-year-old who enjoys running, playing and climbing. Recently, Jameson was climbing a favorite set of monkey bars when he slipped, cutting his face on the way down. His parents rushed him to CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Outpatient Center Mid County where nurses and doctors stitched his cheek. “They told me I was going to be OK and they fixed me up,” Jameson says.

After several stitches, Jameson was released and glad to be headed home and feeling better. “I was scared, very much, but I felt better after,” Jameson explains. Would he recommend a visit to the Mid County ER if his friends slipped too?

"It's the best hospital ever!” Jameson shouts. When 6-year-old Chason decided to throw in some extra dance moves while singing in the shower, he suddenly lost balance and fell, bumping his head hard on the bathtub. "I had a big cut on my head,” Chason says. His parents rushed him to CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Outpatient Center Mid County where he received staples to close the wound.

The whole experience would be scary enough for a grown-up, let alone a 6-year-old boy. However, Chason says the nurses and doctors at CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Outpatient Center Mid County put him at ease from the beginning. “They were very nice to me,” Chason says, smiling. “I wasn’t really scared.” The expert and compassionate nurses and doctors at CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Outpatient Center Mid County are ready to care for everything your child may experience, from a runny nose to a broken bone and more.
