Angela Newman: From Heart Palpitations to Healing

Angela Newman knew something wasn’t right when she began experiencing frequent heart palpitations. As time went on, the palpitations became more intense, leaving her scared and worried that she might be having a heart attack. Determined to find answers, Angela turned to Dr. Hasan Ashraf at CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic.

Dr. Ashraf diagnosed Angela with premature ventricular contractions (PVCs), a condition caused by extra heartbeats originating in the lower chambers of the heart. These irregular beats were significantly affecting Angela’s daily life. He started her on several medications, but the palpitations continued. When the symptoms didn’t improve, Dr. Ashraf recommended a catheter ablation, a procedure designed to treat abnormal heart rhythms by targeting and eliminating the source of the problem.

During the procedure, Dr. Ashraf quickly located the source of Angela’s PVCs. In less than 30 minutes, the irregular beats were treated, and the palpitations stopped immediately. Angela’s recovery was smooth, and within 24 hours, she was back on her feet and ready to return to her normal routine.

Now, Angela is enjoying her life to the fullest, especially the time she spends with her grandchildren. “Being able to run and play with them is so important to me,” she shared. Looking back on her experience, Angela was deeply grateful for the care she received. “Everyone made me feel like I was the most important part of their day,” she said.

Angela’s story is a testament to how advanced care and compassionate support can transform lives, giving patients not only better health but also the ability to cherish life’s most precious moments.
