Male Breast Reduction
Male breast enlargement can occur at any age, and can affect one or both sides. Causes include the use of certain drugs, weight gain, genetic predisposition, or hormonal changes. A male breast reduction, or Gynecomastia surgery, reduces the benign enlargement of male breast tissue. This procedure removes excess fatty and glandular tissue, restoring a flatter, firmer, and more masculine contour.
Benefits:
- Firmer, flatter chest
- No significant downtime, unless strenuous activities are involved
- Results are permanent
The procedure is performed under general anesthesia in about two hours. If excessive glandular tissue is present, it will be excised. The procedure may be performed alone or in conjunction with liposuction. The removal of excess fat may only require liposuction without the need of tissue excisions. Scarring is typically minimal.
