Dr. Peter Woolman’s journey in medicine began at Creighton University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Economics. He continued his education at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) where he obtained his medical degree in 2017 and became a member of the Humanism Honor Society and the UNMC Pediatric Honors Program. While in medical school, he was the continuity coordinator of the student-run free clinic in Omaha, Nebraska, helping chronically ill patients receive the scope of care they needed. He completed his pediatric residency at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. He entered fellowship training at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital/University Hospitals, where he received the Fellowship Research Award Program’s Funded Grant.
Dr. Woolman’s work includes his service as a cardiac intensive care unit translator in La Paz, Mexico, where he facilitated communication between American and Mexican medical teams providing pediatric cardiothoracic surgery.
