Dr. Oscar Rivera, a compassionate and highly skilled cardiologist at CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic in San Antonio, brings a wealth of diverse experience and unwavering commitment to his patients. Born and raised in the vibrant culture of Puerto Rico, Dr. Rivera's journey in medicine began with a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico at Rio Piedras. He later pursued his dream of becoming a physician, earning a Doctor of Medicine degree from Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico.

To broaden his horizons and diversify his expertise as a physician, Dr. Rivera made the pivotal decision to come to San Antonio, Texas. Here, he embarked on a continuous learning journey, starting with his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. During this time, his dedication and excellence earned him the prestigious Top 20 Instructor Award in the ACES course for medical students, highlighting his commitment to medical education.

As Dr. Rivera's career evolved, his true passion for cardiovascular medicine became evident. He decided to further specialize in this field and returned to the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio to complete both a Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship and an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship. Today, he proudly holds board certifications in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Disease, and Nuclear Cardiology.
