About
Dr. Katherine “Katie” Brandt grew up in Austin, Texas, and attended the University of Texas at Austin where she earned an undergraduate degree in the Plan II Honors Program. She attained her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas before completing her residency training at the University of Colorado Pediatrics Residency Program in Denver, Colorado. She then did her neonatology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Following fellowship, she moved to San Antonio, Texas to begin working as a neonatologist with Pediatrix Medical Group. She is board certified in both pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine.
She currently works as the Medical Director of the Neonatal Intermediate Care Unit and Newborn Services at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills Hospital as well as working at CHRISTUS Children's. She loves teaching pediatric and family medicine residents on their NICU and newborn nursery rotations. She also currently serves at the lead physician for the Care Connections team, which is a perinatal/neonatal palliative care team and she is also currently the chair of the Ethics Consult Team at CHRISTUS Children's.
