About
Dr. Henderson trained as a pediatrician and neonatologist in the United States Air Force. He was the neonatal ECMO Medical Director responsible for providing worldwide ECMO availability for United States military dependent infants. He subsequently came to CHRISTUS Children’s as a neonatologist in 2007, helping to roll out the hypothermia program for at-risk neonates and as ECMO Medical Director. He has ECMO, large health-care team simulation, and core neonatal research and education interests.
His special interests include ECMO, hypoxemic respiratory failure, hypothermia for neonatal encephalopathy, chronic lung disease.
“I’m always busy with family. We’ve been foster parents for the last four years with eight children ranging in age from 3 to 35,” Dr. Henderson says of his time away from the hospital.
